PCB Transformers

PCB transformers are vacuum molded and feature a very high proof voltage as a result. Used on the PCB, they provide electrical isolation as a power transformer or safe electrical isolation for the input and output sides as an isolating or safety transformer. BLOCK's wide range of standard solutions provides the ideal supply for your circuit, from PCB transformers offering absolute or limited short-circuit protection or ones that are not short-circuit proof.

Power Transformers

Power transformers with galvanic isolation can be used, e.g., to supply reliable low contact voltage to FELV circuits. In accordance with EN 61558, power transformers provide basic isolation between the primary and secondary sides at a minimum. This makes them ideal for creating new independent networks. BLOCK's standard range includes power ratings of between 0.5 VA and 2,500 VA.

  • Basic isolation in accordance with EN 61558
  • Power output: 0.5 VA to 2,500 VA

Isolating Transformers

Isolating transformers with galvanic isolation provide a reliable supply to circuits with the safety measures “protective separation”. The transformers provide double or reinforced isolation between the primary and secondary sides. Any requested network configuration is possible for the secondary side, whether this involves a monitored isolated system or grounded system with fuse elements. The output voltage for the isolating transformers can be between 50 Vac and 1,000 Vac or 120 Vdc and 1,415 Vdc. BLOCK's standard range includes power outputs of up to 1 MVA.

  • Double or reinforced isolation between the primary and secondary sides
  • Flexible structure for the secondary side network configuration
  • Power output: 50 Vac to 1,000 Vac or 120 Vdc to 1,415 Vdc
  • Power output: up to 1 MVA, higher power ratings upon request

Safety Transformers

Safety transformers with galvanic isolation provide a reliable supply to power circuits with the safety measures “protective separation” or “protection through shutdown”. Double or reinforced isolation between the primary and secondary sides protects SELV and PELV circuits. Safety transformers provide safety extra low voltages below 50 Vac or 120 Vdc. BLOCK's standard range includes power ratings of between 0.5 VA and 2,500 VA.

  • Protection for SELV and PELV circuits
  • For safety extra low voltages below 50 Vac or 120 Vdc
  • Power output: 0.5 VA to 2,500 VA

Applications

  • As a mains transformer for adjustment of the voltage and simple electrical isolation.
  • As an isolating transformer for the safe electrical isolation of the input and output sides. The transformer may be used to set up protective separation as a protective measure in accordance with VDE 0100.
  • As a safety isolating transformer for the safe electrical isolation of the input and output sides. The transformer is suitable for creating SELV and PELV circuits because of the limit on the output voltage.
