This foot switch has an anti-trip pedal action, meaning the user must press forward a latch inside the hood before pressing down on the pedal to turn it on, which provides an additional measure of safety by reducing accidental activation. These units then have a momentary action; the user must keep the pedal pressed down in order to keep it on, and a two-stage feature, which adds an additional force in between the activation of each switch, allowing the user to distinguish between the first and second switches as the pedal is pressed down.
